We kept UNO in 2024 to use as a 2nd backup bull. He has now got the first calves on the ground, and we are very happy. Muscle shape and docility. We sold UNO to Lloyd Hick in early 2025 and probably wish we had kept semen.
AI Sires 2025
We try to find younger AI sires that bring genetic diversity and high performance. This year we used Cluden Newry Uppercut, Gar Contender, Wannon Park Utopia and a couple of wild cards.
Herd sires for 2025
Each year we evaluate traits and sires that we need to bring in outside of our AI program. This year we wanted a bull that could be used over heifers, had a moderate gestation length, good growth, muscle and IMF. We also wanted to shift the dial on fat as most USA bulls that we bring in a negative for fat. We bought CSW23U108 to do this task. We have also added two keeper bulls from Springwood stud in EFN23U4 and EFN24V12. In addition, we are using our own MBJ24V56 as a backup to the mature cows.
AI SIREs used in 2024/25.
We completed our AI program for 2024 with several sires added. We used KC Kingston, KA Kindred, Basin Jameson, Wannon Park Utopia and Hart Network. We also used a very exciting Landfall Bull and await to see the results
