NXTR5 Rectify
In the top 5% for all Angus indexes (February 2024). We selected R5 as a foundation herd bull to infuse calving ease, low birth weight, short gestation length and marbling. He is now in the top 5% for marbling. He excels in the RBVs with all in the top 10%. His pedigree contains GAR Twinhearts, GAR Prophet, Te Mania Longshot, and Ayrvale Bartel E7. AI Sires 2022
We try to find younger AI sires that bring genetic diversity and high performance. Sires used in 2022 include DB Iconic, Sterling Pacific, SS Brickyard, Tehama Testament and Myers Fair n Square. We also purchased semen in E&B Wildcat, DE-SU Renegade, Poss Winchester and Bongongo Be Quick Q227 to our AI and ET programs for the future.
Phoenix Park Trooper HXP22T865
We went looking for a yearling bull in the spring 2023 sales to match the daughters that are coming through from NXTR5. What we really wanted was a bull that had good foot scores, positive fats, high EMA and in the top 5% of breed. We were also keen to make sure the RBVs were good. Luckily Christian Hickey from Phoenix Park recommended this bull HXP22T865 or Trooper. His dam has produced 2 sires and his sire Paratrooper needs no introductions.
He also strengthens our Australian bloodlines. Check out his TACE EBVs, they are impressive.
NB Christian passed away in 2024 and we are deeply saddened but hope Trooper claves will provide us with positive memories.
AI SIREs used in 2023/24.
We completed our AI program for 2023 with two new bulls added. Hart Network and Baldridge Heatseeker H925 were selected to add growth, foot structure and moderate mature cow size.
We are really pleased to add KA Kindred to our sire Battery. We purchased the 1st semen in Australia at the Angus Youth Auction 2024 in partnership with the Cumbre Stud in Victoria. Helping out Angus youth was a real pleasure.
In July 2024 we were really excited to get some of the 1st KC Kingston semen. We will use this in the 2024/25 AI program.
